Tantra For Women

Tantra For Women - An Exercise to Awaken Sensuality
By Acharya Subhojit Dasgupta

A tragic fact is that the gender (women) with the greatest potential for mind-blowing sexual pleasure and the ultimate erotic tantra experience, usually settles for much less. As a tantra teacher, I condemn the excessive cultural emphasis placed on a man's virility, and on the fact that a man's orgasm is essential for procreation.

Ancient tantra has always recognized that women, whose sexual satisfaction has ironically been downplayed for years, are the ones who are capable of multiple orgasms.

Women across cultures have been settling for bland, unsatisfying sex or no sex at all. They are unaware of the latent tantra goddess within, and therefore miss out on or ignore the very thing that could give them what all woman crave:

  • More intimacy and closeness.

  • Their partner's undivided attention, both within and beyond the bedroom.

  • Overall life satisfaction.

  • Confidence in their erotic appeal and attractiveness.

  • Confidence in a secure, happy relationship.

Even for women who report a general sense of satisfaction with sex, the ancient art of tantra can open up a whole world of pleasure beyond what they normally experience.

Tantra scriptures believe that sexual satisfaction is vital for strong emotional bonds. Both men and women experience deeper feelings of love and attachment when they share exquisite sexual pleasure and powerful desire.

I give below an esoteric tantra technique known as 'Shakti ambuddhi paddati'. This ancient technique is designed to increase a woman's sensual receptiveness and sensitivity to physical and emotional stimulation - in short, to awaken the tantra goddess within her and make her an active, eager and excited partner.

This tantra exercise also acts as a subconscious sexual 'tonic,' in that it helps balance hormones, create proper sexual function and increase libido in women. This particular exercise for women must be done at night, preferably between 1 to 4 am (the specific time is related to the breathing cycle).

  • Lie on your back with your arms along your sides and relax.

  • Exhale, then inhale deeply, relaxing all the muscles in your body.

  • Slowly exhale as you squeeze your 1st and 2nd chakras and the adjoining muscles, trying to pull your energy as deeply inward as you can. Do not strain while squeezing - this tantra exercise is not meant to be exhausting.

  • After exhaling, relax your 1st and 2nd chakra muscles for 10 minutes.

  • Repeat the inhaling and exhaling as you squeeze 1st and 2nd chakra muscles 10-15 times slowly.

  • Relax, then repeat the exercise, if you feel comfortable.

Tantra for women influences mind, body and soul simultaneously and is best practiced under the careful guidance and supervision of an experienced tantra teacher. Amateur instructions or attempts to self-practice tantra will not result in optimum benefits. It requires the expert guidance and supervision of a qualified tantra master to get the most out of such techniques, and to prevent possible physical and emotional harm.

Can We Attain Charmananda – The Eternal Orgasm?

Ancient Tantra Concept - Charmananda - The Eternal Orgasm
By Acharya Subhojit Dasgupta

Tantra teaches us that desire is all-pervasive - that it exists in us, at all times. Whether we indulge in it or suppress it constantly, few of us understand it.

While Gautama Buddha said that desire is suffering., a tantra master will extrapolate on this thought thus - to desire is to suffer, but only when you do not know how to desire.

A tantra teacher believes in the goodness of desire and affirms its importance. In today's world, where the social, economical and political milieu demands that we keep up with the Joneses or get morally battered by them, it is important to pursue our desires. However, we must do so intelligently, resourcefully and esoterically. An accomplished tantra master can show the right way to pursue your desires.

When you learn tantra, you learn to understand your desires, rather than deny or suppress them. You must allow your desires to reach the very peak of their urgency, before satiating them.

Tantra propounds that desire, in itself, is not a sin. There is no such thing as shameful desire - however, the intention behind that desire may be sinful and shameful for mortal beings.

Tantra teaches us that everyone and everything exists in this world for a reason. To find our purpose is our life's primary objective - the next is to fulfill it. Living, without understanding our purpose, is futile.

Desires are integral to our being. To deny them is to deny a large part of our essential being.

Life is meant to be a celebration - and enjoyment. This state of blissful celebration is what Tantra calls 'Charmananda' (the eternal orgasm). Yes, this sounds extravagant and perhaps even impossible, but tantra brings it within reach.

However, you can only attain Charmananada, if you practice tantra diligently under the expert guidance of an accomplished tantra teacher.

Why do so few attain this heavenly state that ancient tantra can transport us to? The reason is sad, yet simple - most of those who begin to learn tantra fall by the wayside, because they cannot reconcile their esoteric practices in their daily lives.

However, relentless and expertly guided pursuit of tantra precepts and practices can help you incorporate your new found knowledge into mainstream life, thereby transforming your life into a continuous explosion of Charmananda.

Desire is not evil. Everything in life is worth acquiring, provided that we understand the desired object's rightful place in our life. Understanding the right way to cater to and fulfill our desires is vital.

Ironically, though we have all the technological conveniences of modern life, we have lost the essence of life itself. Our ancestors had a firm grasp on this essence. When you practice tantra, it will help you rediscover your rightful love for life!

The Many Paths of Tantric Awareness

Tantric Awareness

There Are Many Facets of Tantra
By Baba Dez Nichols

When sincere seekers ask "What is Tantra?" We might answer "Like Zen, the Tao and Buddhism, Tantra is a path to enlightenment".

But many modern students are stubborn and insist on a mental answer, even if it is only a partial answer, which leads to the common assumption that Tantra is some kind of sexual yoga.

Our favorite textbook definition of Tantra points to its Sanskrit roots.

The prefix "tan" implies expansion and "tra" means liberation. Thus, Tantra can be interpreted to mean liberation through expansion. Sure, it is poetic, but it is altogether too intellectual. Tantra does not occur between the ears. Nor does it occur between the legs...

Types of Tantra Tantra is like a wise old tree with a vast and deep root system. Some of its more developed branches include Tibetan, Hindu, Kashmiri, Shiviasm, Taoist, Kundalini, Left-Handed, Ipsalu, Quodoshka, Shamanic, Sex Magic and more.

Tantra, like yoga, is not a religion. It does not exclude any portion of the human experience - it includes the full spectrum of humanity. Tantra meets people wherever they are and offers tools for them to expand. The different types of Tantra appeal to different types of people who have different needs.

Colors of Tantra Tantra is further subdivided in terms of color: White, Pink and Red.

White Tantra orients around subtle practices and philosophies rather than physical touch and sexual practices. White Tantra techniques include meditations, visualizations, higher chakra concentrations, eye gazing, breath and sound work to build sensual energy without sexual contact.

Pink Tantra (or in some cases, Violet) embraces both the spiritual and sexual aspects of practice. This is the path where the heart is open and lovemaking is practiced with honor and reverence and healing.

Red Tantra consists of many passionate sexual practices. Traditionally the color red connotes femininity, potency, passion and sex. This path can be liberating for the sexually repressed and may hold interest for the sexually obsessed.

Sex Magic Sexual energy is to be preserved for spiritual advancement, not material gain. In the system of Shamanic Sex Magic, the practices cultivate sexual life force for healing, pleasure and God realization. This approach is non-dualistic, releasing judgment of both material and sensual pleasures, yet is safe and heart-centered.

Neo-Tantra Tantra may have deep roots in India and Tibet, but new seeds have been planted in the West during the sexual revolution in the 1960's and 70's. The message that sexual liberation can lead to spiritual liberation is often referred to as Neo-Tantra. The most common practices of Western Tantra include balancing chakras, raising Kundalini, Goddess worship and expanded orgasmic energy.

What is Shamanism? The word Shaman means 'to know' and is the earliest known spirituality sourcing back 40,000 years ago. Shamanic practices have existed in every culture in history. Shamans have been known to:

  • heal human suffering
  • interpret dreams
  • reverse disease
  • exorcise spirits from other bodies
  • channel animal guides and spiritual entities

Some of the basic tools in Tantra and Shamanism include breath, sound, movement, prayer, chanting, lovemaking and ritual. The correlation between Tantra and Shamanism is the use of ecstatic techniques to contemplate wholeness independent of religious philosophy.

Non-Duality in a Nutshell Have you ever had the mystical sense that we are all one? Do you remember the last time you felt totally connected? That is the essence of Advaita, or non-dual Tantric philosophy.

Advaita is a Sanskrit word meaning "not two." It maintains that all matter, regardless of its distinctly different properties, may appear to be separate but is still connected to the whole of existence.

In Tantra, we explore polarities of male/female, giving/receiving, active/passive, self/other, mind/body, naughty/nice, duality/non-duality to lead us to greater levels of truth. In Tantra, instead of seeing the body as opposite of spirit, the body is accepted as a spiritual vessel. Sexual excitement carries with it the divine impulse for two to become one.

Mindfulness Paying attention to every subtlety of every moment is mindfulness. Tantra is experiential, so ask yourself, what are you thinking right now? What part of your body are you aware of right now? What is happening to you right now? ...and how about now? Each of these separate awareness's bring greater connection to abundance of creativity and love.

Conclusion If you were to ask Baba Dez what Tantra is, he might outstretch his arms as if he was offering a big embrace and reply, "Tantra encompasses every aspect of living. Tantra is about how we live, how we breathe, eat, sleep, work, play and love. It is about everything. And the practice of Tantra is a practice of living life in a way that creates power and magic and divinity. It is any practice that supports us in our divinity."
