Group Reiki Healing
In a group healing session, several hand positions can be carried out at once by different therapists, thereby enabling a Reiki session to take less time.
The receiver will experience a much stronger burst of Reiki energy, receiving the benefits of the full Reiki healing much quicker. If a group of therapists have worked together over a period of time and learned to work well together, then as a team they can achieve much more healing than if they were working alone.
In a group healing team, all members must at least have their First Degree, but teams can include first, second and third degree practitioners. A team can consist of just two up to maybe eight or nine. If there are more practitioners than there is room for them to all work at the same time, then the extra ones can stand behind the other healers, with their hands upon their shoulders offering them further energy.
A group healing session will start with one of the practitioners sitting or standing at the head of the receiver's head. They carry out all of the head positions. They also control the overall session. If there are two healers, one carries out the positions from the head to the heart, moving down, and the other starts with the solar plexus and heads towards the feet. If there are three healers, then one would work at the head, one on the torso, and the third on the leg and feet positions.
The more practitioners, then the more the positions get divided up. Sometimes in a team of three or more, one person can remain at the final foot position for the length of the healing. Placing one hand on the bottom of each foot, and remaining there throughout the session. They may feel various energy changes during the session as the energy moves through the receiver's body.
When the front positions have been carried out, then the receiver is requested to turn over and the group carry on working on the back positions.
At the end of a group healing, the receiver may take a bit longer than usual to return to the `present' and may feel spacey for longer. This is due to the concentrated levels of energy projected by the Reiki practitioners
